We had a great time on the American Queen Steamboat going up the Mississippi and the week was fantastic. The positives about the American Queen Steamboat cruise were: 1) The boat is exquisitely decorated; 2) the food and the coffee were excellent at both of...More

I'll start by saying that the boat itself is the star of the show. It is BEAUTIFUL. They set out to create a nineteenth-century river boat on the Mississippi River and they accomplished that task. This is an authentic paddle wheeled River boat on the...More

A walk along the river front on the wharf is a great thing in the evening with a cool breeze coming off the river, ships cruising up and down stream and the lights on the GNO bridge and downtown buildings. It all makes for a...More

We stood on the bank of the river and touched the water just to say we had. Nice to watch the boat coming and going. The steamboat played tunes and lights from the old organ. Well worth coming.

I mean, it’s just a river, but it’s cool to see it in person still because it’s so famous and everyone’s heard so much about it, so it lives upto our standards :)

Read a lot of negative press concerning the quality of the food, service, tours, costs & kept an open mind. I felt this trip was worth every penny. The food in the dining room was speedily served, varied & of a good quality. The menu...More

My wife and I have taken many ocean cruises. When we saw the Jane McDonald TV series feature the American Queen, we thought we'd give it a go. Overall a fantastic experience. Gently cruising along the Mississippi. With only a few hundred passengers you never...More
