Although there is no lave, there steam vents and the caldera are worth visiting. The guided tours are nice too.

This is a must see on the island. Only part of the rim walk is available since last year's eruptions but you can still see a lot. The highlight is being able to walk across the now solis lava lake.

Yes, regular car fine. As suggested, take comfortable hiking shoes and H20, and sunscreen. There is a great center there, and a wonderful restaurant nearby.

You do not need to be part of tour granted you have your own transportation. We just grabbed a map from the Park Visitor Center. Enjoy but make sure you have a good windbreaker. The wind, even when warm, can really kick... More
