We were taken here by the guide. Good to know some information about the city however could only see it from the outside. Not sure how many big doors you need to see.
The facade of the royal palace is beautiful - I spent there half an hour shooting many photos. The gates are sooo nicely decorated!
You normally only get to see the golden doors, by they are worth the detour. One of the city's must-sees.
This area is not as busy and exciting as the rest of Fes but it kind of gives you a feel of the history. There are a few shops selling spices, food and clothes made in Morocco. Again not fabulous but I did purchase some spices from a shop here.
We enjoyed walking around Fes el-Jdid and exploring the busy markets. It was not comparable with the incredible Fez el Bali, but it is still an interesting, bustling place and was a nice change from being in the Medina for 3 days.
