I last visited 40 years ago and was disappointed about how the medina has changed. Apart from the huge volumes of traffic, it's now a tourist attraction rather than a feature of Morroccan culture.

It's funny, as my friend and I were all "guarded up" for the market, prepared to be harrassed after reading reviews and blogs but it really was a good experience. No one really bothered us and we got to wander around and look at the...More

There are so many tourist wearing what they want. I would recommend wearing knee or full length skirt and shorts with a t-shirt. You can even get away with a singlet top but pack a shawl in case you don't feel comfortable
