Hercules Cave is well-known and our visit with a guide as part of a larger tour of the coast near Tangier was interesting, as we learned a little more about its origins. The highlight is the Africa-shaped opening. We had a lot of fun positioning...More

Definitely worth a visit! Cave feels ancient and offers a solemn atmosphere to them. Spent fewer than than 10 minutes but greatly enjoyed it. Be sure to take a picture of the opening (inverse reflection of the African continent checks out!)

The cave is pretty and the hole in the shape of the continent of Africa is a good photo opportunity however there isn't much information about the cave on location. There are vendors selling souvenirs outside and inside the cave as well. There is another...More

Nice story about Hercules and the cave, but it is not a must. Some merchants selling souvenirs, a cave which requires payment to enter (looks like a club, we didn't get in) and a greater case which has a crack through which the sea is...More

Good to combine this free attraction with Cap Spartel and other view points along this picturesque spot where the Med meets the Atlantic. When you're down in the cave be patient with crowds as they disperse after 10 minutes during our visit, which gave us...More

Totally worth going to see the cave- we had a cave guide as part of our day tour and he was super knowledgeable and took great photos! Love that this site was FREE!

To view something that is 3,000 years old and hear the story from a learned guide is a fabulous experience.

I agree that taking a tour that includes the caves, if there are 2 or more of you then taxi drivers are happy to make a deal for a few hours of tour. Not sure about December weather, but that shouldn’t stop you. Enjoy!
