This plaza (I believe also called the Grand Socco) is in the center of Tangier, bordering between the old walled city/medina and the newer part of town. It was interesting to stand for a few minutes and see all the people passing by and the...More

A town/city square on bordering the old and the (older) new portions of Tangier. Busy with pedestrians and vehicles (not chaotic). As like other areas of old Tangier, it has been neglected so the buildings are a bit worn. The central fountain was not functional...More

You could say that this Place is the heart of Tangier. At least old Tangier that one wants to visit. Very close to the Pasteur Avenue, and connected to the Small Socco and Medina, it's a buzzing square with restaurants, shops supermarkets. Also connected to...More

Sitting outside Cinema Rif drinking tea was a daily highlight. Free wifi with a drink and the essence of Tangiers can be absorbed. A must do.

I travel to tanger with my wife, we decided to stay in the Medina, the Airbnb was nice. It is a classic old house converted in a petit Ryad mostly for tourists. Unfortunately, it was not the best location. You have to walk up a...More

Market day on Thursday and Sunday when not Ramadan. Old cinema still a hub of activity. Meeting point in old town with benches. Fountain without water. Good for local people watching.

Large square that connects the Medina to the newer parts of Tangier. Looked for an inviting place to eat and struck out. Good to walk thru but no need to linger.

Great place to come and observe and take in the scenery. Architecture is made up of modern Moroccan and old colonial buildings. Quiet a nice place to sit and rest, quiet green which is pleasant.

We spent two full day in Tangier, weather was good but shower in the afternoon. Very good walk in town apart from Madina, you enjoy the traditional as well as the contemporary!

A very busy area. Restaurants, ATM'S, Cafe's, cinema, lots of panhandling, hawkers for the restaurants. And a green space to sit and watch the show.
