I just had to see this. We visited the market on a sun and walked past this. Service was still on so we couldn't go in. When I finished at the market, we went back and service was over. I went in and told the...More

Strong red and white colouring that's circled by the Grande Marche, so peace and madness in the same vicinity. Very similar looking to the Cathedral in Kpalime, displaying German colonisation before the French. There is a school next door where we handed out crayons to...More

The cathedral is surrounded by the market. You won't be able to take a good shot, because there are people, motorbikes and merchants everywhere... The cathedral was built a century ago by the German colonists.

This church is worth a visit if you're in the market area. It's a place of peace and quiet surrounded by the bustling market right outside. There is a statue of Jesus against the outside fence that is worth a look. The outside of the...More

This is a rather stylish building in a bustling environment with lovely coloured bricks. Inside some nice simple stained glass windows. Nothing however to merit a long stay.

The cathedral is stunning to look at from the outside and is surrounded by a very busy atmospheric market where I was able to wander without being unduly hassled. However, the cathedral interior did not excite me and was not worthy of a visit.

Even if it is certainly the biggest and most important church in Lomé , it's basically just a ( catholic ) church ! It looks nothing like a cathedral , neither from the outside nor from the inside : it's just a church , like...More
