My cousins told me; we are eating in the schuck. So we walked from one end to another, very slow. We tried everything we wanted, talked to the merchants, bought a little bread, a little olives, a little this and a little of that. In...More

Very nice place to get fresh fruits and vegetables. There are several cafes and restaurants to have something authentic to eat

Nice market with stalls with herbs, vegetables, clothes, snacks etc. In the evening the food stalls and restaurants also open. A lot of (loud) music and lots of fun. Definitely worth a walkabout.

No matter where you go in Israel, don't miss this market. Be sure to get there in the morning and Friday morning is the craziest time. Sample the fruits, veggies, fresh juices, coffee and pastries. Sit somewhere and watch the people.

Market is where the real people are, great food both day and night, best place to sit and people watch with a cold or hot drink.

My wife and I visited Mahane Yehuda Market one evening while we were in Jerusalem. We browsed the stalls, did some people watching, and had a bite to eat in one of the cafes. Far from being as great as the Jemaa el-Fnaa in Marrakesh...More

It is a must see in Jerusalem. We went there weekly to buy challah, fruit and vegetables. We also bought halvah and cakes there. My only suggestion is that you try to avoid it on Friday mornings! Our schedule forced us to go twice there...More

Messy - who cares Noisy - bring it on! This colorful and vivacious market is one of the better I have visited. A wide and eclectic range of products. You can get wheat-grass juice, knock-off clothes, amazing fruit and veggies...all for a fair price, post-haggling,...More

Absolutely! I felt safer in Israel than I did in many other places that I have visited around the world. I also felt safer than I do walking around cities in the US, including New York, at night. I was there for 2 weeks last... More
