According to biblical history, Christian pilgrims chose to locate the Garden of Gethsemane at the bottom of the Mount of Olives close to the Temple Mount. A church was later built on the site where it is believed that Jesus prayed hours before his crucifixion....More

Very beautiful and historic biblical site. Emotionally moving to be in the location of one of great moments in biblical history. The nearby church is great to explore.

Sometimes you arrive in locations which are famous for this or that. The Garden of Gethsemane is that and much more. When one thinks of the last few hours of our Lord before He willingly went to the cross, and the anguish he felt, the...More

It’s beautiful here with a beautiful church but if you only have a short time I think you can just imagine where Jesus was camping the night before he died. Would be more special if it was not so crowded . Maybe go super early...More

Beautiful olive trees, so well preserved. Easy to imagine Christ praying here on His last night before His crucifixion. Great place to visit and reflect.

The historical and biblical importance of the Garden of Gethsemane makes it a must visit when going to Jerusalem. It is important to know that its located outside the old city so in hot weather the walk may be a bit uncomfortable.

If you are on this side of the city, then go see where Jesus prayed on the night before his death; see the olive trees and garden space that were most like the landscape he walked through.

Next to the Church of All Nations and bustling Jericho Road, the garden provides a calming effect on everyone who passes. The original root stock is believed to be over 2,000 years old.

Hello. I took a picture of the operating hours at their door. Summer ( April - Sept ) from 8am -6pm. Winter ( Oct - March ) 8am-5pm. We went there during early hours to avoid the crowds.
