My wife and I spent over 2 hours walking around this truely magnificent Museum , marvelling at all of the artifacts on show. Simply breathtaking. Awesome is an overused adjective but not in this case. Exhibition of Mummies for which there was an oncost was...More

The museum had some cool artefacts, but unfortunately the upkeep was disgraceful. There were barely any signs for direction and there were many interesting statues but unfortunately with no information; which is generally the main reason people visit museums. Obviously there is no storage in...More

Allow several hours to see this museum. The King Tut exhibit is fascinating. All displays are explained in English.

It’s not fair to rate the museum in its present state. Things are in motion to move the collection to its new home near the pyramids. The vast amount of treasures in this inadequate space makes it almost indigestible. Slow down. Choose wisely find spots...More

The new museum is almost complete, and some of the artifacts were already moved over. But the artifacts still there were almost overwhelming! The lifelike eyes on some statues! 4500 year old paintings!

A must see when in Cairo, especially the Tutankhamen exhibition. Ladies bathroom a disgrace, dirty with wet floors and bench tops around the wash basins. Missing toilet seats or some hanging off. 4 attendants sitting outside talking with one collecting money. Spoiled the experience.

I would recommend you keep your bags at hotel luggage room for your own safety and wouldn't recommend leaving your luggage with the museum security they cant be trusted.
