We went here at the end of our nile cruise and well after seeing so many temples and ancient ruins this place didn't have much to add. Sure there is more to see, such as the mausoleum and the remains of another temple,but it is all far from impressive.

Take time to explore the island. The locals are very nice and there are lots of ruins and a small museum to explore as well. Watch out for a local man that claims to be the island Chief as there is no such person. He just wants to wander you around the island and get you to pay

It is certainly easy to reach if you stay at the Old Cataract Hotel Aswan (which is a delight!!)... you can look at it across the very narrow Nile...but even with its proximity, it can be skipped... there are so much grander places to visit... and this coming from someone(me)

Nice Nubian village on an island next to Aswan. Took the local motor boat on the Nile. Colorful houses primarily to attract touristsWent into Animalia, a Nubian house converted into a museum. For 50EGP the owner explains about Nubian life and the artefacts in the house.
