Make sure your walking tour of Santiago passes by here. When we were there it was quite highly barricaded off but you can still get the flavour of the building even behind the metal work!

We went on a Sunday, and it was blocked off with barricades out to the street. I don’t know if that’s normal, but you couldn’t get close to the building (my photos are from the closest vantage points). Pretty building, with a giant Chilean flag...More

This place holds a lot of history and also, as is the presidential palace you can get to see the change of guard that is very colorful and impressive. Also, lots of museums and cool restaurants on the premises

The changing of the guard at La Moneda is a cant miss experience when in Santiago. You’ll need to get there at least 30 minutes early if you want a front row vantage point from which to take your photographs and videos. Otherwise, the crowd...More

To see inside you must register online on the website if La Moneda, but it’s worth the trip to see outside too. The front side toward the Alameda has two pleasant reflection pools. The back side toward the Plaza de la Constitution is where the...More

"Quite impressive" was the spectacle of the guard-change ceremony involving a sizeable contingent of foot soldiers (with rifles on one side of their bodies), about ten mounted soldiers (with rifles across their backs & lances in their hands) and a music band playing some lively...More

A very super imposing building. Well kept. We cannot get in and will have to be satisfied with the outside view.

Our guide took us to La Moneda around 10 AM and we saw the ceremony quite well. May depend on the time of year - we were there in December. I'm sure the tourist info office would know.
