Another of the city’s amazing funiculars. This one seems newer and smoother than some of the others - such good fun - where can you get a theme park ride for €0.10 !!

A throw back to 50 years ago. But essential where the streets travel steeply uphill. About 40 cents.

Recently refurbished this short Ascensor ride takes you to the heart of the many street Murals that adorn the walls of Valparaiso. At the time of our visit the ride was free.

This has been closed for a couple of years but is open again now and fully refurbished. For the month of April 2019 it's free, with the usual 100 peso fare coming back into force from the start of May.

This boxcar has been fully renovated and takes you up to a lovely wooden visitor centre with friendly English speaking people keen to help you discover Valpo. It’s free during April then only 100 CLP after then.

This ascensor was closed when we visited in mid March 2019 and from the hoarding covering it at the top, looks like it will be closed for a while. Make sure to find out if it is open before you trek there is my advice.

We looked all over for this lift to go up. Two people spoke to us in Spanish and we figured they were saying it was closed. The next day at the top of the lift we were told from a waiter who spoke English it...More

This is the oldest funicular in Valparaíso. It costs only 300 pesos per person. The view is wonderful, even if you can see daylight through the floorboards. It is a real local experience!

This ascensor/elevator/funicular is one of the oldest in town and is very functionally. If you don’t use it you will have to take a steep walk up or down hill. But if you are after a thrilling ride with great views forget-about-it. This ride is...More

Good morning Sharon. It is still closed at the moment - I walk past it twice every day. No re-opening date has been announced.
