This is a likeable statue and clearly a popular one too. Several areas are well-rubbed down for good luck. A few yards from the gates to St Andrew’s Cathedral. Photograph opportunities limited for us as children were running in and out of the shots and holding on to the monument.
on the way to old town before going down you will have this pieces and enjoying the detail on it its cool
Pfff, ugly. Maybey some people like this, but we think it is one of the most ugly statues in Kiev and Ukraine.
This monuments commemorates a literary meme familiar to those in the west - someone who couldn't decide between 2 alternatives - the beautiful but poor woman who he loved, or the less attractive but rich one who he didn't..... so of course he ended up with neither - cf Devo…
Officially, known as Monument Pronya Prokopivna and Golokhvastov. It's dedicated to a comedy movie about a guy who is bankrupt and wants to marry a rich girl for her money; but, proposes to her cousin at the same time. Watch the movie and you'll appreciate this monument.
