The plaza has a ton of pigeons and touts. I’d quickly check out the Simon Bolívar statue before going into the museum. Watch your pocket though!

Hemmed in by surrounding buildings, the Inquisition Palace and Cathedral being to of them, this small square shaded by trees is a pleasant place to walk through in the old town. An ideal place to sit on the benches which are placed around the central...More

It's a small square with a lot of trees and a statue of "El Libertador". For some reason the locals like to feed the pigeons who arrive in great numbers as do the persistent street vendors.

Plenty of people, shade and activity. Several museums adjacent. If you are lucky you will catch dancers and other street performers especially in the evening.

You will share this shady plaza with lots of people and pigeons but it's a fun spot and great place to sit for a little while. The locals like to let the pigeons rest on their arms and hands and photo ops abound.

This is central to the old city. Surrounded by the Museum of the Inquisition and Museum of Gold, this is a must see.
