We attended a concert and an opera here during the Cartagena Music Festival. The theater is gorgeous inside, with ornate balconies and a wonderful ceiling mural. The sound quality was excellent.

I had the extreme pleasure of presenting on the magnificent stage for a conference. It’s a grand old theater and they did a wonderful job keeping its feel, while updating to modern theater needs of technology.

I see from other reviews that the interior is beautiful but it was closed when we were there so we just saw it from the outside but it was really magnificent. This building was built in 1911, where La Merced Monastery was standing. This monastery...More
