We just stopped at an overlook and did not hike. It is pretty and not crowded. But, it is not a must do.

Located high above Cotacachi, a national park with nice hiking tours. The most known tour is the tour around the crater top, taking about four hours. The place is really fantastic, extremely beautiful and peaceful. There is an island within the crater lake. You can...More

A crater lake that provides us with amazing views. Our guide explained its very interesting history, plus we hiked up the hill to appreciate amazing views. Nature at best.

As an avid international hiker, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice a hike the 8 mile rim trail around Laguna Cuicocha proved to be. This lake is very similar to the more famous Laguna Quilotoa, but the trail is less steeply up and down,...More

Beautiful views of the Andes, worth to see it. You can take a small hike or a long hike around the Cuicocha lake. Definitly be prepared if you are taking the long walk, it can take up to 4 hours.
