It was a big estate set in idyllic riverside parkland. Kolomenskoe was the favourite summer palace of Ivan the Terrible. It has a fine wooden palace with many well furnished rooms. We visited the wooden palace in the morning and went for lunch. In the...More

This is a wonderful park on the outskirts of Moscow. Despite its location, it is still easy to access due to the excellent metro system. It offers a lovely combination of walking trails through woods or along the river and a mixture of old buildings....More

Traditional "lubok" like Russian Moscow site-seeing, this place, since Soviet days, has very little to share with a real Russian/Moscow history. But, when you come with little kids on a sunny day (or with your beloved) - it suits you well.

Not so far from Moskou. A very nice park and church. The inside is much like other churches, but the outside is really beautiful.

An excellent escape from the big city crowds for some peace with mother nature. The wooden palace of Tsar has been rebuilt and is worth a visit for its gaudy interiors. I walked from the rocket church till the palace and did not feel unsafe...More

Really, the Ascension church is indeed one of my favourites in Moscow; the design suites the name and the concept perfectly. However, even with the clouds on my photos one cannot but see that it badly needs maintenance. On the other hand, maybe not… The...More

We chose to go to Kolomenskoye simply to get away from the touristy centre of the city, and we were delighted with what we found. Arriving at the south end of the reserve from the Kashirskaya metro station we were able to visit first the...More

This is my 4th visit to Russia but the first time here! What a peacefull environment and beautifull setup. The restoration is great and the church still functioning. There are people in costume...little kiosks with tasty biscuits and lovely flowers all over!

If you get out of the Metro and turn around you should be facing the main road follow that road to the left for 5 mins and you can't miss the entrance.
