Now a branch of the Russian Museum with portraits of Russian rulers on display, this castle built for Paul I has a fascinating and mysterious history, which includes Paul's assassination in his own bedroom.

This museum is great to find out who is who in Russian history and their stories.
I found many Emperors, Dukes and so many other important figures like Catherine the Great! It can take a while to see it all so recommend good comfortable shoes...More
