Completely unspoiled natural beach with no buildings, makes you easily imagine how this part of the world was 500 years ago. Just don't go during a hot summer weekend day because it will be overloaded with people and cars.

A bit away from Rio and a lot more tranquil, worth a visit if u want something more chilled out and not so full on

Water was rough (Wintertime) But area by the rocky foothill was more protected & somewhat calm. Decent places to eat & drink at too.

This is definitively the best beach in the city of Rio. Why? Beacause it is a long cost, full of parking lot, far from the crowded places and very close to the Wild Beaches and Prainha !!!

For me, the best beach in the city... quiet and crystal clear water"! And another important detail: there are no street vendors.

Clear water and white sand beaches. Chairs and Umbrellas offered but no towels. Payments can be done by credit card. I would pay with cash though. The credit card I used there afterwards was used to withdraw cash from a money machine. What a coincidence.

Secluded, horseshoe shaped beach, surrounded by a tropical forest, with Rio's best surfing spot. Although more crowded on summer weekends, it has more life to it and people to share the experience.

Not sure if this is too late but we got a bus to Barra Sul as it was cheaper due to the distance and then got a taxi from there. The taxi agree to pick us up from the beach at a certain time later on.
