It's a tough climbing for about an hour to reach the top but when you reach it you really feel that it was worth it. Be prepare to wait in line for a while to take pictures because it's a very popular spot.
There are no clear indications / directions and hence it’s better to go in a group or with a guide. I had taken help of a local guide who was very well versed with the location and knew exactly the way up-to the spot..!
The trail leading up to the start of the hike was probably the hardest part. The start of the hike is very complicated to get to without a guide/if you don't speak Portuguese. We were coming from Copacabana and it took us a subway, then...More
It is not very easy to get there, I mean, you have to ride a car (bus, taxi, UBEr) to Barra de Guaratiba, the last neighborhood of the city of Rio and then take the trail to the the top of this rock. It is...More
I booked a tour via Expedia for TD. Driver picked me up at around 8ish am; it included a tour guide. There was only one other tourist with me so we traveled from the hotel to Pedra Do Telegrafo via a small car.
Best is to go there in low season otherwise to have to wait hours to get a photo with the legendary stone.
Sport shoes and a lot of water by you please. The mountain is very steepy. The scenery is fantastic it’s worth :)
We booked an excursion to Pedra from Nattrip Brazil, a local Brazilian excursion company. They didn't offer transportation, we met with out tour guide in one of Copacabana's train station and from there we went to our final destination. It took around 1hr and 30minutes...More
I took public transport with a friend to do this hike. It was easy to reach. Once at the top, you have to wait for your turn to take a few photos. We took pics of each other. Next, two scam artist photographers, with a...More
I hiked Pedro do Telegrafo on January 2nd. Reaching the summit is absolutely beautiful. You can get great pictures on a sunny day. At times, there is a professional photography for pictures. But he wasn't there on my hike day.
This (for some) can be...More
A good hike uphill, mostly in the shade in a well trodden path that is easy for the feet. The hike itself is great and the views from the telegraph rock is phenomenal. We had a tour that included professional photography, but there is a...More
