Tsavo East and West are not the main ports of call for foreign visitors most prefer to do Masi Mara. We enjoyed both sides of Tsavo National Park. Saly it was all very dry for the animals.

Thanks in large part to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage this park is recovering from years of poaching and neglect. Now is there effective antipoaching and the numbers of elephants are on the increase. There is also plenty of other wildlife.

Travellers to anywhere in Kenya should have a yellow fever virus. Firstly it protects them and secondly they may not get into other countries without proof of their vaccination.

I think early June is better than may - less chance of rain. I went in Early June and it was dry. Rainy weather can be better for seeing some animals though/
