Compared to other parks the animals in this one are amazingly shy - thus tough to picture. But in sum ok.

The word iSimangaliso means miracle and wonder which went some way to describe this beautiful place. Lots of heron, wildfowl and waders along with a few other heavyweights in the form of crocs and hippos

We really enjoyed this park. Good facilities, very few tourists. Lots of animal to see if you drive slowly. Stunning scenery.

Crowded by lack of access into a larger body of water - too many tour boats all trying to get up close and photo perfect for hippos!

The wetlands themselves are pristine and beautiful to spend time traveling through. Woe betide the weary traveler who might need to relieve themselves as some of the ablution facilities especially the Cape Vidal ones are terribly maintained and are very dirty.

Took a 2 hour boat cruise from sunset jetty and it was brilliant. Saw lots of hippos and crocs as well as lots of bird. Staff on the boat very knowledgeable and helpful with identifying birds for us

After 10 days in magnificent Kruger and Hluhluwe, we found this park quite boring and devoid of wild life. It also seems like the wetlands are fast becoming dry land and the sand dunes are moving in. Maybe a few wet seasons might reverse things...More

I think it is February/March. The turtles start laying their eggs in November and incubation is about 65 days. The tours will drive you up the beach at night to see the turtles - you have a chance of seeing leopards and... More
