We had time to kill on a bleary day. Walked down Ave de Mayo & made our way to the reserve. Was a little concerned if it was safe to wander by ourselves but there were many people walking, running, cycling through the park.
Free to get in and managed to visit twice as close to our hotel.First time lots of joggers but still saw several different birds including plenty of raptors!
Birds didnt seem to mind people so got quite close to several.Lots of butterflies too.
A walkable distance from Puerto Madero, to the south under a highway from the San Telmo neighborhood, to the north from the Plaza San Martín area, the Reserva Ecológica is like an oasis of calm and tranquility on Buenos Aires’ outer harbor. Perfect for biking...More
This place is probably lovely if it’s open, but from our experience it always seems to be closed!

From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this
neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
