Set in an elegant home/former government building exhibits are very accessible. Museum entry is inexpensive and includes other properties. Well preserved government meeting hall which looks ready for occupancy and use for legislative sessions.

I was rather disappointed in this. The curating is not the best. The museum is divided between two sites. At the larger there are English translations. Some of the displays are low down and involve bending and reading in poor light. It covers the basic...More

An interesting museum which details (in Spanish and English) the history of the area and of its native peoples. A whole section is devoted to stuffed birds, from condors to finches, and some very old black and white silent film recounts the lives of the...More

We visited with our 8 & 9 year old daughters, after 15 minutes we were finished, not worth entry fee. Only gave it 2 stars for the fair collection of local animal taxidermy.

This place was the prison and then a bank. (The only bank). Has a few artifacts and tells some of the story how explorers (invaders) plundered the island of Tierra del Fuego. Useful timeline. Most ‘settlers’ appear to have arrived after being shipwrecked. They show...More
