We were just expecting to visit the forte for the view. We were not expecting the rooms of displays explaining the large waves and also the surfing culture of Nazare. The entrance fee was only 1 euro as well. Well worth the whole experience.

This is a must do during the winter. The waves are amazing. Depending on the day you can find surfers trying their luck. Highly recommended. Do not miss it.

We visited at around 3pm in the winter and it was open. The entrance fee is 2 euros I think.

We had a carn but you can take the funicular up, it is not expensive. The cathedral is worth a visit also.
