The volcano was part of our tour. It was interesting to look at, but this is not what people come here to see, so it's pretty much an after thought. The volcano itself is huge & gives you an idea how these islands were made.
The places where you can approach the rim are steep slopes. A drop-off would allow a clearer photographic capture. As is, none of my photos was particularly effective, with too much of the foreground slope. :(
