I thought it was just a cave with nothing much to offer but I have to admit I was surprised and found it more entertaining than I thought. Couple of nice photos and long ish caves. Good to do if you have some spare time,...More

If you try and grow bananas etc on the ground they get burnt. So when a cave crumbles in they cleared the debris and planted the vegetation in 10/15 ft ditches which was all that wa left of the cave. The plants were protected from...More

The twisting lava tube has several openings that allow light in for groves of banana plants. The floor of the cave a little slippery and a flashlight is needed.

The underground cave was worth seeing, but the guide seemed bored and after going there everyday for a few years, it's easy to understand why.

Ana Te Pahu is near Ahu Akivi and is one of the largest cave complexes on the island. Prior occupancy is obvious from all the defensive stone walls added for protection; and the 'gardens' planted near the entry where the roof has caved in.

There are apparently 942 lava tube caves on Easter Island. They were once used by the locals as dwellings. It is a bit of a walk from the entrance of the site to the cave, and not well signposted, but we had a guide with...More

This cave is a small hike from the parking and entrance to the attraction. It's worth the walk. The cave is beautiful and unlike anything I've seen before.

Pahu is one of the the best places to view the extensive series of lava tubes that cover the island. Thin layers of hardened lava formed the largest cave on the island here. Several interconnected chambers have a total length of over 7 km (4...More

Having visited most of the caves of the island, this one was my favourite. It is located between Ahu Akivi and Ahu Te Peu, in an area that has two other caves nearby, too. You need to show the national park ticket at a checkpoint...More
