We passed here on way from Uyuni to Chile - the whole area is quite spectacular with some amazing rock formations including this tree. There are a few foxes here that have become overly aggressive in their hunt for food so please be careful when...More

The 'Rock Tree' is located in the Bolivian Desert which inspired some of Salvador Dali's paintings. The Arbol de Piedra is an incredible natural rock formation that is usually a convenient stop on a tour of Uyuni and the Salt Flats. It is well worth...More

This was another stop on route to San Pedro to Uyuni. I weird and interesting rock formation in the desert. We got here mid morning and hardly anyone else was there, but it can get very busy.

It was bitter cold when we pulled up to this location. Dusk was setting in. It gave the whole experience a super natural feeling. We did not stay long. Worth a look however.

I'd recommend getting there early as the place is very photogenic and lots of people want to take pictures there. It a beautiful piece of art carved my nature in the middle of nowhere. Morning light is best for photography.

These are volcano rock formations lots of fun to climb and take pictures, you cannot climb the arbor de pier though for obvious reasons, bring lots of water the desert and high altitude can really dehydrate you.
