Beautiful old buildings, very fairy-tale. Malancrav in the better setting, in a quiet village. Malancrav also has painted walls inside. Biertan has a very old lock which is a masterpiece of its time.

We enjoyed Biertan SO much, that hubby was willing to drive to Malancrav on our way back to Sighisoara. The road from Laslea was not bad.......we expected MUCH worse. There was a tour bus in Malacrav and the turistas were inside the Church, being given a lecture on 500 yr. old

The Saxon fortified churches in Transylvania are not to be missed. They are like beautiful jewels in the jewel box of Transylvania. Although Biertan is the most famous, there are many scattered over the southern region of Transylvania waiting to be discovered.
