A short boat trip in the river Tagus to the castle. They have done a great job with information on this former Templar site, the views from the ramparts are fantastic. A beautiful spot with great history dating back to the Romans, the Moors and the Templars.

Almourol Castle was reachable by taking a small boat ride on the Tagus River as the castle is on an island. Be careful on the door at the top of the tower as it locks on its own. Two visitors were stuck and our guide had to let them out. There are nice informational displays on
