Whatever pictures, film or documentaries you see Al Khazneh (The Treasury) is still so much better in real life. Pity about all the tourists (yes, I know I'm one of them) but it's still beautiful, as is the rest of Petra. The whole site must...More

When you think Petra, you generally think of this place. This is what adorns most pictures and is also the one image of Petra most people come to capture. Of the more than 800 carved tombs in Petra, this is the most famous. Kazneah means...More

Best time to go: as soon as the gates open. It does fill up with tourists. And the brief ride/photo op on the camel is fun!!

The Treasury, when arriving through the Siq, opens up the Siq slowly. Just an amazing view! Tourgroups normally start at 8am to walk through the Siq, if you go slightly later or earlier it's far quieter in the Siq to walk here. We did once...More

The Treasury is the big prize at the end of the winding pathway. An amazing feat of ancient workmanship. This is the reason why so many visitors come to Jordan

Carved out of sandstone it is one of the most popular attraction in Petra. The local people believe that in the Nabatean kingdom priceless streasures were stored in AL Khazneh or "The Treasury". Lots of pics are a must here for all enthusiasts

After walking through the great sand stone Kenyon, you reach this beautiful carved facade . Looks like a building but it’s only a facade and closed for entrance. Anyway very impressive 2000 years old attraction

This is the most photographed place inside Petra. But one should know this is not the only one that would leave you in wide eyed wonder. But a 2km walk through the siq ending up at the sight of the Treasury is mind-boggling.

This wasn’t me talking about young boys being threatening. Yes they bother you to sell stuff but there in no way threatening. It’s been a great experience.

I would recommend renting a car and traveling by car in Jordan. It’s much easier and safe. Enjoy your trip. Also make sure to catch Petra by Night. Amazing experience!
