This amazing church is worth the trip. The ancient architects and builders passion can still be felt in the walls.

Our pilgrimage group visited the Church of the Multiplication where Jesus performed the miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fish. This plain but beautiful church with a courtyard is so historic. Unfortunately during our visit, it was so popular and crowded with fellow pilgrims...More

This church is built on the approximate site of Jesus feeding the 5000 men with only a few loaves and fish. Another moment to pause in silence and understand that the ground you are on once had Jesus walk on it also.

The Church of the Multiplication is one of the reasons for visiting the Galilea region. In addition to its historical and biblical importance, it is currently under renovation in order to implement a very attractive project.

Modern day church sitting on site of a 4th century church with Byzantine mosaics-flora, birds, snakes, etc. Beneath the altar is the Rock on which it is believed that Jesus places the loaves and fish on to bless them. Place of prayer and reflection.

This is where the mosaic of the loaves and fish is to be found. One cannot get very close, and need to take a picture to zoom into in order to see the mosaic property. NIS10 per car to enter.

There is a car park which is the only cost and, on the day we went, a very helpful attendant who directed us to other places. Worth a stop if you are driving round Galilee as we were.
