concert was awesome!! we loved it. Parking is always tough to find no matter what time you get there, traffic in the area is horrible, you should build a parking structure across from the bowl instead of the park.
This is an excellently designed Museum of this particular venue. A storied and long-standing history. The Hollywood Bowl was the venue for the Beatles, for several years until their last performances in 1966. And so many well known and talented performers have performed here over...More
Came to the Hollywood Bowl to see the Little Mermaid in concert and wasn't disappointed. The venue itself is really cool, lots of facilities and staff were lovely. Parking was a nightmare so uber or plan in advance!
Great to see shows here but buy good tickets.During winter you may get rained on so take an umbrella with you. People will complain about the umbrella but oh well. Or wear a coat with a hood.Good restaurants nearby You'll have a good time.
We went to listen to live music on July 3rd. We had a box. The weather was fabulous, we enjoyed the music and the fireworks. I would get there about 6 pm. You can either bring your own food or buy food there. I highly...More
I typically go to the bowl about twice a year and my family has a blast. The LA Phill shows and Fourth of July shows are great. If it’s a show put on by the Hollywood bowl you’re allowed to bring in wine and beer....More

Actually, the Hollywood Bowl is an LA County Park. So you can go and walk the area. It is easier in the mornings, there will security and lots of people getting ready for that evenings concert. The museum is rather small, but there are interactive exhibits and recordings you can listen to. So you can spend as little or as much time as you like. September will be hot, so mornings are good walking time for the Bowl. You are totally exposed to the bright sun, wear protection. Parking is plentiful and it is free on the grounds. There will attendants to tell you where to go. Enjoy the day.

We go an hour before. But after the new renovations, there are plenty of place to picnic. Skip the benches on the pathway up and enter the venue. That way you beat the lines which can get long the closer it gets to show time. There are maybe 7 or 8 picnic spots on different levels of the venue with nice tables etc.
You can take alcohol in if it's an official Hollywood bowl event. If it is a "leased" event, you can't. The website will tell you which is which.
When we go to the classical nights over the summer, it is easy to move down. Because the bowl is huge (17000) and it rarely fills up. For bigger concerts it gets full and it's harder to move.
