This is one od the originals, and it's not to be missed. It has an old Vegas feel, and the staff, dealers, pit bosses and everyone else is just great. I hadn't been here for about 6 months, and when I walked in, the pit...More

Not everything in Las Vegas looks like the Bellagio, Luxor, MGM Grand, Caesars Palace or The Mirage. To get a feel for the history of the town, visit the El Cortez, a relatively small downtown gaming venue that is one of the oldest continuously operated...More

Old school casino. Nothing too fancy. Had a ton of fun playing craps. Drinks were cold and free. Fremont street outside is a fun break to go see things you won't see in your home town.

If you love prime rib, the restaurant at the El Cortez is the place to go. You must ask for the special or you will be served the higher-priced prime rib on the menu. The dinner includes a nice portion of prime rib, your choice...More

Take a walk down Fremont St outside of the "experience" to find a genuine old casino, the El Cortez. Good for craps, as they offer $5 bets with 10x odds. Walked in with $200 and out with $600 after about half an hour. Good blackjack...More

We visited downtown one day and this was by far our favourite casino. It was so enjoyable we returned one evening later that week. Cocktails servers were regular and attentive. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. Will definitely return.

Machines are tight even though they are supposed to be loose slots. Have mostly the electronic and not my favorite old ones. Will not go back.

Decent, loose, but not the newest and glitziest. El Cortez has some great blackjack rules, but it’s an older casino. But lots of 6-9 video poker machines. Good luck
