We traveled along here on the American Song river cruise boat. The scenery is really quite interesting and extraordinary. Gives one an entirely enhanced perspective on this historic area of our country. Highly recommend!

Our first trip to explore the Columbia River Gorge - and there is so much to see. I had hoped for a little more fall color but we came from the west and got off on Highway 30 to go to Crown Point and beyond....More

Just a great ride from Portland east up the Columbia River. Get off on historic Hwy 30 when you can as the freeway does it little justice. We did Highway 30 all the way to the Dalles ( you go on and off freeway -...More

We are so fortunate to have such beauty in our state as this. What a beautiful majestic area and a nice drive too. We went to Hood River and came back 1-84. There was little traffic. It was a wonderful day.

My sister who lives in Oregon decided to take the Old Highway instead of the main route. Definitely a good decision now that it has reopened. We stopped at the look-outs and a number of the falls including the major one which was incredible. We...More

14-15 trips here 2001-2013 because we loved it. Have lived here for six years because we love it. Not inexpensive, but can't beat being on vacation year round.

This might be the best and most monumental part of Oregon. It is a must see if you are in the area! Or make the trip out of your way to see it, you won't regret it.

I suggest that you get off the main highway and jump onto Oregon Historic 30. Take the turnouts and savor the scenery.

The Columbia River Gorge is a must see! Plenty of photo opportunities, hiking, waterfalls, wildflowers, scenic drives, etc. This area is so beautiful and it’s waterfall after waterfall. I loved every minute of our trip and would love to come back again someday!

I agree with the rest- it’s something you really need to drive so you can pull over for photo ops (many!) whenever you choose. We rented a car for 2 days. Such a gorgeous drive!!! Have fun!!!
