We loved it here. Rangers very informative except on the age of everything. Good videos and movie to watch. Really enjoyed it. Nice grounds. Loved the thatch hut down the road and enjoyed looking at the original Volcano House which is now an art gallery.

If you are planning to visit Volcano National Park, you should plan to come to the Visitor Center first. It has tons of information about the park, including trails that are closed. The rangers here are amazing - they are so well-informed, helpful, and enthusiastic!

Almost a necessity to stop here to read all the information and history of the area, The Visitor Center also provides answers to your questions thru guides, staff, videos and visual displays. Well worth the time to stop by.

The active volcano is not in Kauai. It's on the Big Isle of Hawaii. We did this tour last June and saw the ocean lava entry via a boat ride. The sunrise boat ride is the best. I highly recommend it! Lava Ocean Tours on the... More
