We loved it here. Rangers very informative except on the age of everything. Good videos and movie to watch. Really enjoyed it. Nice grounds. Loved the thatch hut down the road and enjoyed looking at the original Volcano House which is now an art gallery.
The highlight of my Hawaiian vacation was visitng the Volcano National Park and the Kilauea Visitor Centre. Lots of reading, things to look at and to learn so be sure to stop there first. Helpful staff.

If you are planning to visit Volcano National Park, you should plan to come to the Visitor Center first. It has tons of information about the park, including trails that are closed. The rangers here are amazing - they are so well-informed, helpful, and enthusiastic!
