Great and fascinating place. Check clarity. It was very cloudy and there were parts that we couldn’t see.

My wife and I spent the day at Haleakala National Park. The road to the top is great (well paved). Parking can get tight at the top. There is a secondary parking lot below the summit by restrooms. The view at the top was spectacular....More

The views from the summit are spectacular and rather otherworldly. There are plenty of side trails and overviews on the way up. Sunset and sunrise are spectacular, but you need reservations made two months in advance to see the sunrise. But take another day to...More

The sunrise at Haleakala was incredible. We hiked the short trail to the summit from the summit parking lot, which was a great decision. Mostly people stayed near the parking lot, so we had a much better view after a few minutes of hiking. We...More

Beautiful views and well worth going to see. Highly recommend a visit up to the top. Very refreshing since it is much cooler at the top.

My wife and I decided to see this national park as we are big fans of the park system. This one does not disappoint. You can stay in the car or hike around. Some people are huge fans of the sunrise or sunset here but...More

Always interesting to see the what shapes the island in the large volcanic crater, but do know that weather is hit or miss affecting visibility. When it is clear, it is amazing and well worth the risk.

I love National Parks and Haleakala is a magical place. Beautiful and inspirational. I have seen the sunset from there twice. But, as the Beatles would say, the trip to the top is a "Long and Winding Road". Don't be put off if you look...More

You’ll have to make a reservation with the park or buy a tour package, expect to get an early start (2 am), dress warmly and prepare yourself for the most incredible sunrise you’ve ever seen! Just do it!

Just Google "Haleakala excursions" -- you should find plenty of tour/excursion operators who can get you to the summit. The questions is, "What do you want to do once you're there?" Do you want to hike in the crater... More
