Visited Hawaii and started to lose hope finding a decent swimmable beach. On our last day, we went to Lanakai beach in Oahu and was fortunate enough to find street parking just a few steps away from the public beach access. It wasn’t busy when...More

Lanikai Beach is one of the best beaches that we visited during our six-days drive in Oahu. The beach sand is white, powdery, and so sift to walk on. From the beach are visible the pleasing pair of Mokulua Islands. The water is clear with...More

Friends had told us that this is the best beach for snorkeling on Oahu. On the day we arrived, there was nobody in the water and the beach was empty (we arrived just after the sunrise hike to the pillboxes just above the beach). Parking...More

I came here after hiking the pillbox ridge hike. I first saw the beach from the ridge and it is so beautiful! Parking a little difficult to find and it's important to be respectful as it's in a residential neighborhood. The beach itself was stunning....More

We visited Lanikai Beach and loved it. It was not crowded like Waikiki Beach. It was not commercial. It had beautiful blue-green water and was peaceful. A sea turtle swam close to us. Beach accesses are marked. Both times we were there, people set up...More

This was the most glorious beach we went to in the entirety of the north shore. The reason we loved it so much was firstly the sand, it was the smoothest softest sand, the water was crystal clear and when we went in snorkelling, we...More

We found a place to park - watch the traffic! Crossed the road and saw the most sea turtles ever! They were so neat to watch. Got a lot of good video and pictures and just stood there and watched them wash in, eat and...More

Lanikai beach is a beautiful beach. No special photography skills are needed to capture photos that look like a postcard, it's just that beautiful. There are no facilities at this beach and parking is on the street in a residential area so be prepared to...More

We did see people kayaking right off Lanikai, they prebooked a kayak tour and their guide had their kayaks ready to go on Lanikai Beach. You may have to do some research online.
