A cruise ship landed the day we went to Pier 39 & it was exceptionally crowded. It was wonderful at 8:00 am when we had the Pier to ourselves and could explore without being elbow to elbow with people.

So much going on. Music, buskers, motorbikers. It was a bit like Blackpool on steroids but sunnier! Great choice of restaurants a tacky souvenir shops!

Very vigorous and lively place to visit. Many attractions and places to see. Shops, restaurants, tours and more. Lots is going on at this place.

We saw them at 10am, but right outside pier 39 there are floating piers just for them. I believe they come and go all day

I Recommend using public transport on in San Fran or Lyft . It’s too expensive to park anywhere .
