About
Since 1873, cable cars have run up and down the hilly city, though after the 1950s, these cars have been kept in operation more out of historic nostalgia. Seventeen miles of track remain and have been deemed a historical landmark.

Interesting experience to say you rode the car, better to buy a pass for a days travel rather than one trip, they don't take cards, so cash only. Again overcrowded, we could see most thing because we stood up, but if you sat down, you...More

The experience can be variable, depending on the actual crew. We travelled from Fishermans Wharf to Union Square with a crew who just didn't interact with the passengers at all. Our return journey, however, was an absolute joy, made so because of a crew who...More

Don’t be put off by the queues at either end of the lines as they move pretty quick. Our trip showed us many great sights as we whizzed by, with lots of steep ups and downs. Standing on the edge was a great experience, but...More

Went on a number of journies and it was great. Try to get the outside seats to enjoy the experience. Buy tickets at the offices and enjoy it.

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

The 1 day visitor pass is $12 for adults. If you do the one trip it's $7, but as soon as you exit the car, then you have to buy another trip.
