Lots to see and do in this wharf area. Lots of seafood restaurants and some with walk-away dishes to take away and outside dining. Lots of people watching, tourist shops and boat rides on the bay. An entertaining place to spend your time while in...More

A nice place to visit if you are from out of town. Otherwise stay clear except on a rainy day. The restaurants are of average quality and the souvenir shops are full of the usual.

Well, bring time, patience, a healthy appetite, a shopping bag and a bag with money. And....get there with a Taxi or other choice of transportation.

Lots of fast food eateries and Tat shops. Pier 39 is a better place to visit . All of the piers appear to come under the heading of fisherman’s wharf

Even though fisherman’s wharf is touristy it never gets old or jaded. The ancient little boats still docked here and the unique history are fascinating. The fresh air, the crowds, the smell of fish the smell of the Bay-all of that adds up to a...More

We were there mid June. It was busy, but still had great views of Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, and the sea lions. Shops were full of people so crowding was an issue, but only slight.
