Walking, and getting some terrific exercise, from Market up Powell or Mason Streets, to the top of Nob Hill brings one to a wonderfully bucolic neighborhood for extremely wealthy SF residents, You will find unique and exciting architecture and 2 top of the line hotels,...More

It is the area where the city's power brokers live and the businesses they frequent. Gothic-style Grace Cathedral and charming Huntington Park. Also home to some of the city's best hotels. The Cable Car Museum exhibits antique cars alongside live machinery.

Mostly a neighborhood for residents, but unique and exciting architecture.A really good leg workout to walk here, however, lacks real attractions. But an option if you have good finances and want to stay a little more fancy.

This area is awesome. The homes are splendid and the hills are challenging but so much fun to walk up AND down. Many places to eat and view. A must do!

A good workout walking up there if you don’t catch a tram. Nice to walk though as there is some pretty funky architecture to look at and the views of the harbour are pretty spectacular too.

If you dare walk up to the top, up very steep streets, you will be rewarded with some perfect spots, Grace Cathedral, the park in front of the Fairmont Hotel, the Union Club, etc. An important and historic neighborhood.

Going around the area with family as it used to be the posh neighborhood in SF. Other than the space between the Fairmont Hotel and Grace Cathedral, the area is dirty (it looks like people drop plastic and papers as they wish and nobody really...More

Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

Yes you can, cable car is close to Cathedral. Think its the Powell Mason line. Have a good time.
