So saw this on things to do in Saipan and decided to go at it ourselves. First it is amazing, second don’t make the Sam mistake we did. This was an impulsive decision for us, therefore we weren’t carrying any water. The hike down was...More
Groupd of colleagues opted for tour with Marianas Trekking. Highly recommended to take this guided hiking tour on hiking trail to Forbidden Island. It was a tough, challenging hike with different terrain (dirt, boulders, sharp lava rocks, sand), descent / incline using ropes and stretching...More
When going to this island, better join a tour instead of going on your own.
Trekking downhill is a bit tough and dangerous but it’s worthy when you see such a picturesque scenery.

Make sure to allow at least three hours or more. Bring your snorkel lots of small safe pools like your own private aquarium with colorful fish and warm water. I went around 2pm and we saw only one other couple. It is a half hour...More
The hike is less than a mile. Don't forget to take advantage of the awesome views while making the hike. I wouldn't suggest trying to get all the way to the island, but there are some great views, and a nice swimming hole. There is...More
Snorkeling pool was great with lots of tropical fish. Get directions to the Forbidden Cave and carefully climb over rocks to get there. The climb back up the hill wooped me in the midday sun. Take your time. Worth it.

A short but tricky hike down the cliff, with great views on the way. Once there you might find the perfect cave with...More
Frankly, I was never a hiker with poor aerobic capacity, so if I did the hike, everyone can! It's harsh for me - Going down looks dangerous but there are some ropes to help. Going back up is just tiring but all I need is...More
This is a beautiful spot away from all the tourist. The road leading to the trail head requires four wheel drive. It's a quick hike down, less than 2 miles. The hike back up was difficult, a little steep. Make sure you wear sturdy shoes...More
