As an American Western movie fan Canyon de Chelly was on my bucket list. Especially Spider Rock formation. The canyon was used in several westerns, but especially MacKenna's Gold with Gregory Peck. There are over 3,000 "cliff dwellings" in the canyon. Some you can see...More

I first saw the White House ruins from the south rim of Canyon de Chelly in December 2000. 19 years later, my wife and I returned to take a half-day tour of the canyon conducted by the Thunderbird Lodge. The Thunderbird Lodge transports 10 passengers...More

I've never been to the southwest before. This has to be my favorite place visited. Seeing the ruins at White House and Spider Rock made me feel spoiled and privileged. I cannot begin to understand the life lived here....intelligent, scrappy, spiritual. I am humbled.

I saw the movie 35 years ago (Gregory Peck,Omar Shariff and Telly Savala) and I was impressed by the unusual rock formation in the middle of the valley, I found later that it was real. Finally, I was able to go there and explore this...More

We did not take a tour of the canyon but still loved it. The hike to White House ruin is beautiful. The views of the canyon all along the trail are great. It is a 600 foot descent but the trail is not steep. Take...More

We mostly saw the south rim of Canyon De Chelly plus the Antelope Ruins along the north rim. Spider Rock was very beautiful in its portion of the canyon. Ruins were everywhere and the canyon was all amazing at every turn. I really wanted to...More

HI, Book the tour with Thunderbird Lodge. The lodge is owned by the Navajo. It's good to support them. If you're going to stay at a hotel don't stay at the lodge. I thought the food at their restaurant wasn't very good... More
