I should've researched more before visiting The Met as there's so much to see. Could definitely spend a whole day here.

An amazing museum. You can enjoy Egyptian and Roman art. But the most attractive for me was the huge collection of Abstract art. Also the Impressionist and post impressionist collection is very nice. In September they also had a great exhibition on rock n roll....More

One of the greatest museums in the world . Parking is available on site. Museum no longer operates on the suggested donation unless you are a resident of NY. It's a good time to renew your membership. It is valid for the year and you...More

Go! This is a great one stop museum visit for visitors with some limited time. Something to please everyone. And for locals there are always exhibits coming and going. Best times to visit: Friday and Saturday evenings. The crowds are smaller and there's ususally live...More

Compared to many museums, The Met is massive. I haven't been here since like forever and forgot how massive it is. I have been a few times over the years I lived in NJ and my recall isn't that it was quite this large;maybe I...More

Massive Art Museum is One of the World's Best. So much to see it could take days, if not forever... If you're a local, join as a member. Also includes The Met Bruerer and The Cloisters. Phenomenal selections, guided tours, unique spectrum of artworks.

The collection, the result of a century of donations and acquisitions, is outstanding. This review is for management's treatment of the visitors today. The rudeness of many staff members is legendary. Just put rude in the Tripadvisor review search function and you'll get pages and...More

You need a full day, maybe two to really see everything at the Met. Highly recommend going if just for the rooftop patio and view of Central Park.

We visited on our first day, which incidentally was very wet, so it shouldn't have been any surprise that most of New York decided to visit on the same day, so was very busy. Staff were quite helpful, but there are so many options for...More

I'm not fond of museums which are basically like a warehouse. Masterpieces exist here, but the crowds are enormous. I much prefer a museum which u can visit fully in 1-2 hours. This takes days, and it's just overwhelming.

My understanding is that unless there is a special exhibition of any of their objects, most are in storage and only a few are on exhibit at any time. They just have so much and only a limited amount of exhibition space.
