Do not come here if you hate crowds. Tourists galore. Most popular place for tourists to visit as Broadway is here, several attractions like Madame Toussads, Hershey Choc Store, M&M world, etc.

the under ground train. it is very quick. cabs are actually good but to be on time the trainline is perfect

I would say depends on how long you have in NY - how flexible you are on the show and time/date you want. Good luck you will love it.
