The NYC subway is old and some new. Definitely the fastest way to get around NYC. The photo building is an old entrance to the subway system. Near the Staton Island Ferry and Wall Street. Also the graffiti is gone from the trains.
I found the Subway very convenient to use especially in New York. Uber tends to be expensive so the other alternative and is way cheaper is the subway.
They could do with doing more to keep it clean. Seats are alright.
Overall was ok and...More
Considering the distances around NYC, the subway is a great help - unless of course you can afford it to travel by taxi. The subway trains are old and noisy, the stations are old and hot and the whole system should be brought into the...More
If you need to get to Manhattan from Queens or northern Brooklyn take the 7 train. In two years I’ve had only one issue, a train had mechanical problems in the tunnel. At rush hour it runs every 3-4 minutes so it’s never as jammed...More
For the week we were in NYC we bought a one week unlimited ride Metrocard.

I took the subway several times while in NYC as a tourist. Its pretty confusing for tourists to navigate. The busy stations have an attendant that you can ask questions and purchace tickets from. The waiting area gets quite hot, there is no AC there....More

After speaking to many friends we're happy we decided to try this popular and busy public transportation system. The only difficulty was determining east and west but New Yorkers are eager to assist when asked.
I guess, if your teens are higher then 44 inches, there must be a metrocard for each of you. Magnetic ticket. You can choose to put some to e rather then value on metrocard. 5 day pass is a good choice

The subway diesn’t Go out to Newark Airport. There is a train to Penn Station or a bus to Port Authority (at 42nd St and 8th Avenue). When you get into Manhattan, buy our subway card. If you will be travelling more than 10 subway journeys in total, the 7 day card is the cheapest option.. You have to pay be card. If yiu’re Not a US resident it will still ask for your zip code. Just press the enter key at that stage and it will skip that field.
It works splendidly. Have fun
