If you want to see regular new yorker life style and get in touch with new yorkers then Brookly and Williamsburg (as a part of it) are absolutely worth going there. Especially the Foodmarket with the foodtrucks on Saturday is great

Quiet but pleasant neighborhood to walk around. It has plenty of cafes, restaurants, pizzerias, boutiques and vintage fashion stores. A calm and pleasant place to hang out for those who want to escape the hustle of Manhattan
