It's difficult to entice your group out of the French Quarter. I get it! I bribed my friends with a promise of lunch at Commanders Palace & a ride on the famous Nola trolley & off we went. It was a bit of a chore...More

This was a pleasant surprise in New Orleans for us, only a short streetcar ride away. A “must do” if you are in the city for more than a couple of days. Amazing old style homes on quiet streets, full of character. We did a...More

We did a self-guided tour that included about a dozen homes from "Free Tours by Foot." It was just the right length of walking - even though one of our members had a blister from the day before and it was a heat wave in...More

For the traveller who likes architecture it is ideal. In just a few blocks a variety of styles. No need for a tour. Look online for a map and walk around yourself.

Homes of all styles and in various states of remodeling, from rough to finished and beautiful. Unfortunately one of the best parts of these historic homes are the rear courtyards which are hidden from view.

You can see a lot of the architecture from the St. Charles street car line. Also, there is a lot of good shopping on Magazine St.

I took a "Walking tours by foot" trip through the garden district, and it was a beautiful area of the city. Saw a few homes owned by persons everyone knows, such as Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, and Archie Manning.

Well worth touring, lovely and very interesting. Lots to look at, the homes are massive! Hopefully your tour guide gives you lots of cool info.

We walked around the Garden District whilst on a guided tour. What beautiful and fabulous houses here for the rich. We were fortunate to go inside one of them , the Sophronie Claiborne & Mandeville Marigny Cottage on St Charle's Avenue. Steeped in history.
